YOUNG MARINES (Old Colony Division)
My 11 year old son, Cole, was a member of this awesome program. I correlate it to Cub Scouts on steriods. It's a program the focuses on leadership and respect. They meet once a week in Plymouth as well have encampments (a weekend "retreat"). This program is sponsored by the Marines (even though my husband and I are strictly GO ARMY).
THE HABITAT RESTORE
Habitat ReStore is a retail outlet for used and surplus building materials, tood, and fixtures are sold inexpensively for Habitat for Humanity - Located at 72 North Main St (RT 58), Carver, ph: 508.866.4199. This store offers goods that were donated for a Habitat project but were not right for the project. The funds raised help build additional Habitat homes. Come in and buy or donate. Donations are tax deductible.

My family rescured Holly, the sweetest dog. If you are looking to adopt, a great website that show thousands of animals is www.PetFinder.com which led me to SaveADog.org which is where we met Holly at one of their adoption fairs. Save A Dog gets most of their dogs from West Virginia.

Organizations like the Pembroke Military Support group are made up of family and friends of military members. Organizations like this are a wonderful support for soldiers and sailers serving our country.
My favorite event - The Pembroke Chamber Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony which took place Sunday, Dec 7, 2008 from 2:30 - 5:30 pm on the Pembroke Town Green. It was a fun wonderful winter wonderland and we raised $350 and collected 2 huge boxes of donations for the Pembroke Food Pantry. To see a video of the evening. My goal for the 2009 Tree Lighting event is to raise funds to do the electrical work to light the entire green (about 12 additional trees). Give me a call for more info. This year's Tree Lighting is Sunday, Dec 6, 2009. Music, hayrides, marshmellow roast. Come say Hi!
